Jay Readyhough is a lifelong Rhode Island resident, and has been in real estate for over 47 years. He brings real estate experience and deep local expertise to his role as Team Lead of the Sheil Readyhough Team and Founding Member of SERHANT. Rhode Island.
Before joining SERHANT., first licensed as a sales agent in 1978, Jay purchased Bay Realty in 1981, where as the President and owner at Bay Realty he built a great team of skilled professionals who served clients with loyalty, commitment, and integrity for nearly four decades from their office in Narragansett. After selling Bay Realty in 2019 to a local Sotheby’s franchise Jay continued his career, where most recently, his team earned the distinction of being the #1 team (Sheil Readyhough Team) at that company in 2024 selling over $50,000,000 of real estate state-wide.
Known for his professionalism, client-first mentality, and equal dedication to every client, Jay has built a trusted name throughout the state of Rhode Island. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Jay combines his lifelong connection to the community with an unmatched understanding of the South County and coastal markets.
Jay’s long-standing reputation for integrity and excellence has earned him recognition throughout his career, including service as the President of the Washington County Board of REALTORS® (1986–1987), RI Realtor of the Year (1988), President of the MLS (1994), President of the RI Association of Realtors (1999), and as recipient of the Kent Washington Association of REALTORS® Hero Award (2020).
